Deoban is a offbeat and lesser known destination of Uttarakhand which is located 12 km north-west of beautiful hill station Chakrata. Deoban is a remote rural area which separates Himanchal and Uttarakhand. Additionally it has a very old forest rest house built by the British government in 1963 that makes it more attractive. Basically, Deoban is a part of Kanasar forest renge which lies at the border of Himanchal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Though there is a motorable route up to the forest rest house which is located at the elevation of 3000 meters whereas the Chakrata hill station is located at an eleveation of 2200 meters. But in the winters, due to heavy snowfall the road is not motorable and then this 12 km forest area can be seen deeply through a trek.
