Best Season For A Memorable Char Dham Yatra Experience

Best Season: Usually the Char Dham Yatra begins from the mid April and lasts upto October last. So, the Char Dham Yatra has only seven months to play and someyears it has only six. Visitors get only these months to witness the divine temples because temples gets closed whole winters due to heavy snowfall.

  • Summers: May, June are the peak season months. Weather feels pleasant over the Himalayan towns when it's burning in the busty cities. Heading to Himalayan peaks in summers sounds exciting but it gets very crowded and people suffer in jams.
  • Monsoon: July and August months rain here, weather gets very pleasant, clear and less crowded but involves certain risks of landslides, road blocks, floods, and cloudbursts.

  • Winters: September and October months can be considered as the ideal time to plan for this holy Himalayan Char Dham Pilgrimage. Sep and Oct months are the start of the winters where September is quite pleasant but October can be quite cold. If you get lucky, a snowfall can also be witnessed at Dhams in the month of October. So if you are not afraid of a bit cold then this is the time for you.
